Office for Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurs (SMEs) arose, like most unique ventures, partly out of luck and chance, and partly out of necessity. My partner and I were considering ideas for another global conquest – I'll write a book about it someday ;). Back then, we already had our own companies and were taking advantage of the benefits of virtual offices. We ended up with a structure consisting of at least 15 companies. Each was supposed to handle something completely different. But together, they formed a perfect whole. We were very excited, and one of them said, "We should add a virtual office and accounting to handle all this"… That's how Office for Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurs was born. Many of the planned things didn't work out, but some are developing beautifully. We didn't launch accounting services – in retrospect, I'm glad we didn't. It's worth doing only what you're truly passionate about... and accounting wasn't exactly my thing.
