We change our home address, our mailing address, we change our business address. Much less often, but it also happens, we change our e-mail address. And if you move &#8211; add your last address to this list and that&#8217;s it.<br \/>\nIf<strong>&#8220;redirected mail<\/strong>&#8221; comes to me, &#8211; I also sometimes ask the sender to change my address to the current one. <\/p>\n<p>Details of the entire process and what the Post Office may want can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poczta-polska.pl\/paczki-i-listy\/odbior\/przekierowanie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If your new address is &#8220;more permanent&#8221; &#8211; it is a good idea to respond to all letters sent from different places and <strong>inform about your new mailing address<\/strong>. However, if this is not your &#8220;destination&#8221; address &#8211; you can simply maintain <strong>the forwarding of correspondence<\/strong> and possibly consolidate it slowly. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Not all letters will be sent to you at the new address<\/strong>. Unfortunately, the most sensitive ones will remain at the old post office. You can check the exact list of types of such letters at the above link under &#8220;Important!&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Service not included&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you can&#8217;t get these letters normally, it would at least be useful to know about them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"elektroniczne-awizo\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Electronic_AWIZO_of_registered_letter\"><\/span>Electronic AWIZO of registered letter<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Registered letters<\/strong> very often relate to official matters, and their importance increases as we grow, because over time we have more and more to lose in the case of an unfavorable (although sometimes wrong) administrative decision. It is worth knowing that <strong>an unclaimed registered letter is considered delivered<\/strong>. Even worse, the office recognizes that we not only received such a letter, but also learned and understood its contents. <strong>The time to receive a registered letter is usually 14 days<\/strong>. It may turn out that we are on vacation and cannot receive such a letter. In such a case, we have two options: <strong>an extension of time to pick up the letter<\/strong> or <strong>a postal power of attorney<\/strong>. Whichever you plan to do, it is worth asking the Post Office to send us an email or text message (I recommend email) in case <strong>a registered mail\/<\/strong><strong>registered<\/strong><strong>letter\/AWIZO<\/strong> comes to us. The Post Office formally calls this &#8220;<strong>Request to receive notices in electronic form<\/strong>&#8221; and marketing-mildly calls it &#8220;<strong>eAWIZO<\/strong>&#8220;, you can find more on the Postal Service website: You can find detailed information about this service of the Polish Post Office here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poczta-polska.pl\/epoczta\/einfo\/awizo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.poczta-polska.pl\/epoczta\/einfo\/awizo\/<\/a>      <\/p>\n<p>Once you start <strong>eAWIZO<\/strong>, you will receive an email or SMS about all <strong>eAWIZO<\/strong> letters that come to your address. This is also worth setting for all addresses. Here it is worth noting the rule: &#8220;In the case of letters in criminal, civil, court-administrative, administrative, tax, and letters in a case of violation of public finance discipline, you will receive a paper notification.&#8221; Unfortunately, this means that we may still not be informed about these most important letters. <strong>The post office interprets this provision differently even within the same post office, sometimes they send and paper AWIZO and email\/SMS, and sometimes they send only paper<\/strong>. We should be a little more careful <strong>if our virtual office has a postal power of attorney<\/strong> and receives all registered letters for us, so that it does not turn out that the office will not be informed of the incoming mail. Alternatively, set a rule in your email <strong>to automatically send notifications of registered letters to the virtual office<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p>Now you are already getting information about <strong>AWIZO<\/strong>. Unfortunately, this does not mean that you will easily receive such a letter. <strong>The AWIZO usually lies in the post office for 14 days<\/strong>, so if you are on vacation, on a business trip or simply live in another city &#8211; you have a problem. In such cases, you can use the help of friends or <a href=\"https:\/\/biurodlamisia.pl\"><strong>the services of a professional virtual office<\/strong><\/a>. The formalities involved are worth dealing with before you leave, because it is impossible to grant power of attorney from abroad. However, you can do it while you are in Poland, using any post office.    <\/p>\n<h3 id=\"pelnomocnictwo-pocztowe\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Postal_Power_of_Attorney_%E2%80%93_authorization_to_collect_registered_mail_Polish_Postal_Service\"><\/span>Postal Power of Attorney &#8211; authorization to collect registered mail Polish Postal Service<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You can authorize third parties to receive AWIZOwed letters (except criminal cases). To do this, again, you must go to the post office and post the proof (and KRS\/CEIDG, if applicable). Remember that you need to provide the number of your trusted person&#8217;s ID card or other proof of identity.  <\/p>\n<p>Once the postal <strong>power of attorney<\/strong> is posted and paid for, it is a good idea to make a note for yourself of where and on what date it was submitted. Usually the post office scans such a power of attorney and sends it to the post office, responsible for the address indicated on the power of attorney. However, they sometimes forget to do so and\/or lose the power of attorney. <strong>Therefore, it is advisable to go to the destination post the next day and confirm whether the power of attorney has arrived and what its number is<\/strong>. Power of attorney numbers usually look like this <em>number\/year<\/em> (e.g., 217\/2020) and apply to the post office in question.   <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Power_of_attorney_at_the_post_office_%E2%80%93_whats_the_catch\"><\/span>Power of attorney at the post office &#8211; what&#8217;s the catch?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The list of mail described in the application, unfortunately, is incomplete. Sometimes it happens that the clerk at the post office does not agree to issue a letter, even if you have a power of attorney.   <strong>It is worthwhile to complete the &#8220;other&#8221; field with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ordinary mail<\/li>\n<li>registered mail<\/li>\n<li>declared-value letters<\/li>\n<li>ordinary postal parcels<\/li>\n<li>postal parcels with declared value<\/li>\n<li>COD shipments<\/li>\n<li>amounts of postal remittances, checks, PZWs<\/li>\n<li>court, treasury and all other consignments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As of recently, due to COVID-19 the procedure has been simplified and <strong>you can submit<\/strong> <strong>a postal power of attorney using a qualified signature<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/media.poczta-polska.pl\/pr\/493751\/poczta-polska-upraszcza-procedury-odbioru-korespondencji-dla-firm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/media.poczta-polska.pl\/pr\/493751\/poczta-polska-upraszcza-procedury-odbioru-korespondencji-dla-firm.<\/a> Although this would seem to be an ideal solution, <strong>I strongly advise against it, due to the rule:<\/strong> &#8220;However, it should be borne in mind that, in accordance with current regulations, mail sent by courts and prosecutors&#8217; offices cannot be issued to an attorney who has been granted a postal power of attorney submitted using a qualified electronic signature.&#8221; Which means that in really crucial and important matters (e.g., a letter from the KRS) we will not be able to use such a power of attorney.  <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ideas_on_how_to_use_a_postal_power_of_attorney\"><\/span>Ideas on how to use a postal power of attorney<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you plan to <strong>register your company with a virtual office<\/strong> and they are to receive your letters &#8211; make sure they request you to give them a postal power of attorney.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It is worth giving such power of attorney to several trusted people<\/strong>. If you run a company, &#8211; then it is also worth giving it to your <strong>lawyer<\/strong>, this way the lawyer will be able to deal with the most important matters in your absence. <\/p>\n<p>Authorization to receive a registered letter Polish Post Office &#8211; if you have several addresses in different cities &#8211; you can authorize in each city a different person who happens to live there.<\/p>\n<p>The above steps actually take care of most of the problems with receiving mail. If you move more often or simply do not want to mess around with such things (involve friends, etc.), &#8211; <strong>it is worth giving your virtual office as your mailing address everywhere<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"przechowywanie-korespondencji\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Storage_of_correspondence\"><\/span>Storage of correspondence<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If we are planning an extended trip, and we have neither a virtual office nor someone else to whom we can safely entrust the collection of letters. You can still think about <strong>contracting the post office for longer storage of our letters<\/strong>. In this case, I don&#8217;t have much experience and have to rely only on official information and reports from friends.  <\/p>\n<p>The general idea is quite simple &#8211; <strong>after two weeks of receiving the AWIZO, the letter does not return to the sender, but stays at the post office for an additional two weeks<\/strong>. This means that we actually have time to receive such a letter for almost a month.
